Employee Motivation
Are your team happy in their work? Often we believe that our team are happy for the simple reason that they come to work every day and get the job done, but if you have high levels of sickness absence, high staff turnaround or sometimes work takes longer to complete than it should, it could be the sign of a de-motivated team.
There are a few questions that you can ask of yourself and your team to determine how motivated they are, and it is equally important to find out what motivates them. Each individual is motivated by something different; it could be financial reward, status, praise and acknowledgement, job security, perfectionism or even just results.
Many external events or actions can affect a person’s motivation, and in the current economic climate it is important for a manager to find a way of harnessing what drives the staff and a good place to start is in determining what your own personal motivators are.
Eira Consulting can work with you and your team to understand what the drivers are for each individual, we can work with those individuals and build on areas that will strengthen the team and promote a stronger and more focussed department. With many years experience working with all sizes of departments, we can work with you to support managers and team leaders in recognising the de-motivators, specifically in the payroll and HR administration teams where work often includes high volumes of transactions. The nature of these roles often require a specific development plan to ensure individuals see themselves progressing from the simple data input tasks and filing to the more complex payroll duties, ensuring job satisfaction for all.
